Bamidele Challenges Oshiomhole in Senate Plenary Session

During a Senate plenary session on Thursday, Bamidele addressed Oshiomhole, criticizing the recent handling of a motion concerning the Senate presidency for the 11th National Assembly. Bamidele sponsored a motion to remove restrictions on contesting for the Senate presidency, which led to a reversal of an earlier amendment.

Oshiomhole urged his colleagues to allow for a proper debate on the matter, which sparked a sharp reaction from Bamidele. He raised a point of order, labeling Oshiomhole's comments as unnecessary drama that disrupted the proceedings.

Bamidele emphasized that the Senate leadership should not permit such disruptions, citing Senate Rule 52(6). He noted that the matter had already been decided and that the Senate should focus on maintaining a positive image.

Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin presided over the plenary session, which sustained Bamidele's point of order.
