Senate Leader Urges Ekiti APC Unity Ahead of Primaries

Opeyemi Bamidele, the Senate leader, warned members of the Ekiti State chapter of the APC against allowing the race for National Assembly tickets to create divisions within the party. This caution was issued during a meeting held on Friday in Ado Ekiti, where he highlighted the potential advantage opposition parties could gain from internal crises within the APC.

Bamidele stressed the importance of unity and effective internal management to prevent disputes ahead of the party primaries. He urged aspirants, particularly those contesting for House of Representatives seats, to remain committed to the party, regardless of the outcomes of the primaries.

He noted that the party would follow due process in selecting its candidates, recognizing both consensus and direct primaries as prescribed by electoral law. Additionally, Ekiti APC chairman Sola Elesin commended members for maintaining peace and assured aspirants of a level playing field in the consensus arrangements.

Habibat Adubiaro, the state secretary, also called for unity among party faithful to prevent divisions.
