“We Fell Short”: Coach Abdulrahman, Nwamu Reflect On D’Tigers’ AfroBasket Exit

D'Tigers head coach Mohammed Abdulrahman and team captain Ike Nwamu have expressed disappointment over their exit from the AfroBasket tournament. Abdulrahman admitted that the team fell short in their efforts, leading to their defeat by Brancou Badio and Jean Jacques Boissy.

This loss marked the team's fifth consecutive appearance in the tournament since 2013. Nwamu described the defeat as a bitter pill to swallow, especially after the team's promising start in the competition.

Despite the unexpected failure to reach the final, the National Sports Commission (NSC) backed the team and praised their performance, emphasizing that it could be a stepping stone towards greater achievements in the future. The Tigers had raised expectations earlier in the tournament by topping Group B and defeating strong teams along the way.
