Historical Society of Nigeria Successfully Restores History to School Curriculum

The Historical Society of Nigeria (HSN) fought to restore the teaching of history in Nigerian schools, which was removed in 2009-2010 but reintroduced by the federal government in 2018. The HSN announced plans for its 70th congress and the 6th congress of the Association of African Historians in Abuja.

Renowned historian Bahru Zewd Woldehana will deliver a prestigious lecture during the event. The society aims to reflect on its 70-year history of promoting scholarship in Nigeria and honoring past contributions to nation-building.
