NADDC Calls for Results-Driven Approach at Retreat

The National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) convened a three-day Strategic Management Retreat from August 26 to 28, 2023, at the Metropolitan Hotel in Calabar, Cross River State. Engr. Ayinde Abdullahi, representing the Director-General Otunba Oluwemimo Joseph Osanipin, challenged the council's management and staff to transition from routine activities to delivering measurable results that advance Nigeria's automotive industry.

The retreat's theme was “Driving Institutional Excellence: Aligning Capacity, Culture, and Compliance with the NADDC Corporate Mandate.” Abdullahi emphasized the need for the council to evaluate its interventions regarding local automotive production, job creation, and technology transfer. He identified three pillars of institutional excellence: capacity, culture, and compliance.

Abdullahi called for a technically skilled workforce and a culture of integrity, accountability, and innovation. He also stressed the importance of breaking down institutional silos and leading by example in performance and innovation.
