NOA Blames Poor Leadership for Niger Tanker Explosion Tragedy

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) attributes the Niger tanker explosion, which claimed 42 lives, to poor leadership and community-level problems. The incident in Essa community on the Bida-Badeggi road involved a petrol tanker overturning and exploding as residents tried to collect fuel.

NOA Director-General, Issa Onilu, expressed frustration and condemned the act of fuel scooping, highlighting the moral decline in society. The agency has engaged with stakeholders, including NUPENG, to review safety measures and prevent future incidents.
