Tinubu's Government Vows to Stop Extortion of Nigerian Parents by Schools

The Ministry of Education under Tinubu's government in Nigeria has taken a stand against the exploitation of parents by schools. The Ministry, represented by Tunji Alausa, declared during an interview that activities such as extorting parents through textbook sales and extravagant nursery school graduation ceremonies will no longer be tolerated.

Alausa also revealed the reintroduction of history into the state's curriculum, which had been removed in 2007 for various reasons. The decision to ban the teaching of history had been made by the government at the time, citing different justifications.

However, the current government, led by Tinubu, considers this move a mistake and is instructing the subject to be reintegrated into the curricula.
