ADC Won't Grant Ticket to Candidates Supporting Tinubu

Naja’atu Mohammed, the Deputy National Chairman of the ADC for Northwest, announced during a press conference in Kano that the party will not award its ticket to any candidate who supports President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. She expressed that the party's stance is to ensure loyalty to its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and criticized the perception that candidates loyal to Tinubu should be considered.

Mohammed lamented the suffering in the Northern region, highlighting issues such as hunger and insecurity over the past four years. She clarified that she is part of a seven-member consensus committee, chaired by Ben Obi, which is responsible for steering the party's affairs in Kano.

The committee includes Umar Bala as Caretaker Chairman and Ismail Musa as Secretary. Ibrahim Khalil, a member of the ADC, declined to comment on the situation.

The party is yet to announce its consensus candidate for the upcoming 2027 governorship elections.
