FG Targets 1,500 Housing Units for Immigration Staff

The Federal Government of Nigeria, through the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), has initiated a project to construct 1,500 housing units for Immigration staff in Gwagwalada, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), as part of its welfare efforts. The project was inaugurated on Wednesday by the Minister of Interior, Dr.

Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and includes three-bedroom and four-bedroom units. Major Gen.

Abdulmalik Jibril, representing the NIS, emphasized the project's goal to reduce the economic burden on immigration personnel and ensure effective service delivery. Mr.

Kemi Nanna Nandap, Deputy Comptroller General in charge of Visa and Residency Permit, noted that the project was conceived a year ago to meet housing needs. The housing units are being developed in partnership with Abiskoli Real Estate Development.

Dr. Salihu Dauda from NIMCOS described the initiative as a game changer for the welfare of staff, highlighting the importance of good housing in promoting stability and enabling effective performance.
