Sokoto Governor Aliyu Vows to Combat Banditry Effectively

On Thursday afternoon, Sokoto State Governor Ahmed Aliyu assured that his administration would continue its tough stance against banditry until internally displaced persons (IDPs) can return to their homes. Speaking at the 8th regular meeting of the State Executive Council, he emphasized that the state government, in collaboration with conventional security agencies, is intensifying efforts against banditry with a more robust strategy that is showing positive results.

Governor Aliyu noted significant improvements in combating banditry, particularly in Rabah, Tureta, and Kebbe Local Government Areas, where security forces have engaged bandits, rescued captives, and recovered thousands of livestock. He pledged ongoing support for security agencies, including the provision of new armored vehicles and hardware.

The governor also called on citizens to support government efforts to restore peace and security while continuing to implement projects aligned with his 9-Point Agenda, aimed at enhancing healthcare, education, infrastructure, and empowerment across the state.
