Boniface and Okonkwo Shine in Pre-Season Friendlies

In a standout performance during pre-season friendlies, Victor Boniface scored two goals as Bayer Leverkusen defeated Sportfreund Baumberg 7-0. Boniface opened the scoring in the 27th minute and completed his brace shortly after the second half began.

Afonso Moreira also contributed to the scoreline, with Christian Kofan and Robert Andrich adding goals. Nathan Tella rounded off the rout in the 67th minute.

Boniface, who spent the previous season on loan at Werder Bremen, aims to regain consistency at Bayer Leverkusen. Meanwhile, Arthur Okonkwo, playing for Wrexham, secured a clean sheet in a 1-0 victory over Helsinki, having previously kept a scoreless draw against Wisla Krakow, where he saved a second-half penalty.

Other notable performances included Ola Aina and Taiwo Awoniyi, who played for Nottingham Forest in their 2-0 win against Notts County, with Aina returning from injury to help secure a clean sheet.
