Nigeria to Leverage India's Tech Experience at BRICS Summit

The Federal Government of Nigeria, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima at the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi, India, aims to utilize India's experience in technology, artificial intelligence, and the digital economy to unlock opportunities for its youthful population. Foreign Affairs Minister Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu emphasized the importance of learning from India's success in engaging its youth through technology, particularly in sectors such as agriculture and women's participation in the tech industry.

The Nigerian delegation, which includes Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment Jumoke Oduwole, Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy Bosun Tijani, and Minister of Environment Balarabe Lawal, will focus on expanding trade, investment, and technological cooperation. Nigeria became a BRICS partner country in January 2025 and seeks to strengthen its economic and diplomatic ties with emerging economies through this platform.
