SDP Chairman Gomb Presents Evidence in Gabam Case

Professor Sodiq Abubakar Gomb, the current Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), stated that sufficient evidence has been provided in the misappropriation case against the party's former chairman, Shehu Gabam. The case was presented at the Magistrate Court in Wuse Zone 2, Federal Capital Territory, and has been adjourned to June 17, 2026, by Chief Magistrate Amauch Onyedium.

Gomb emphasized that Gabam has been expelled from the party, and there are indications that the Chief Magistrate advised both parties to explore a court settlement. The evidence includes documents related to allegations of misappropriation and corruption involving a company linked to Gabam.

Gabam was arraigned on May 12, 2026, for alleged misappropriation during his tenure as SDP chairman from 2022 to 2023. The party's national convention held in Bauchi on May 9, 2026, ratified Gomb as the national chairman.
