Jibrin Ibrahim Accuses INEC Chairman of Partisanship

Jibrin Ibrahim, a senior fellow at the Centre for Democracy Development, has made serious allegations against Joash Amupitan, the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), claiming there is substantial evidence of partisanship. During an interview on Arise Television's prime time program, Ibrahim stated that Amupitan's actions appear to target the main opposition party without any legal basis, which he described as unacceptable.

In response to these allegations, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) organized a protest on Monday, demanding Amupitan's resignation. Protesters displayed placards with messages such as "ADC not sale" and accused Amupitan of compromising democracy.

The protest was led by Adeola Olusi, the national deputy youth leader of the ADC, and took place at Yaba College of Technology in Lagos, starting at 8 AM, amidst a significant security presence.
