Nollywood Actor Patrick Okoyo Passes Away at 2026

Patrick Chukwura Okoyo, affectionately known as Mr. Energi, was a prominent Nollywood actor who passed away on May 28, 2026.

Born in Enugwu Ukwu, Anambra State, Okoyo was celebrated for his versatility and creativity, particularly in portraying traditional titles such as Igwe Onowu alongside fellow star Patience Ozokwor. He served as a lecturer and mentor at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, where he contributed significantly to the development of aspiring actors and filmmakers.

His death was announced by fellow actor Ken Eric on social media, although the cause was not disclosed. The academic community and his colleagues expressed deep sorrow over his passing, describing him as a vibrant person and a distinguished figure in Nollywood.

Okoyo's legacy includes a successful career in acting, singing, and choreography, and he is remembered for his impactful contributions to the entertainment industry and academia. He is survived by his wife and child, who welcomed a child in August 2025.
