Abba Yusuf's Absence at Emir Sanusi's Sallah Celebration Explained

Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State did not attend the Sallah celebration hosted by Emir Sanusi at the Government House due to a scheduling conflict with an annual strategic meeting of Nigerian governors. The clarification came from a statement signed by his spokesperson, Sunusi Tofa, who labeled claims that Yusuf ignored the Emir as untrue and lacking factual support.

Tofa warned that such misinformation could cause unnecessary tension. The statement explained that the customary practice for governors is to pay homage to the Emir during the Sallah celebrations.

However, due to the scheduling conflict, Yusuf was reportedly unable to attend the Eid prayer led by the Emir. Instead, arrangements were made for senior officials to welcome the Emir on behalf of the Governor.

The Governor reassured the public that the relationship between his administration and the Emir's council remains friendly, based on mutual respect and a shared commitment to peace and development in Kano.
