APC Replaces Uzodimma With Masari as Convention Chair Amid Leadership Shake-Up

The All Progressives Congress (APC) replaced Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma with former Katsina State Governor Aminu Masari as the Convention Committee Chair. This decision, announced on Friday, was reportedly made to honor senior party leaders and ensure a balanced representation within the party.

Pius Anyim was named Vice Chairman of the committee. The party clarified that Uzodimma's removal was not due to internal rifts but to balance regional interests, especially with the South being represented by leaders like Bola Tinubu.

The reconstituted committee includes key officials from the national assembly, former national chairmen, and cabinet members to ensure broad party representation. The APC's National Convention is scheduled for March 27-28, 2026, with the new National Working Committee (NWC) expected to be consensus-based.

When contacted for the reason behind Uzodimma's replacement, APC National Secretary Ajibola Basiru declined to comment.
