Billboard's recent article has classified Nigerian artist Rema as a "one-hit wonder," placing him sixth in a list of 25 artists. This classification has ignited controversy among fans who feel it diminishes Rema's impact and achievements in the music industry.

His song "Calm Down," featuring American pop icon Selena Gomez, has achieved remarkable success, reaching number three on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Despite this, Billboard noted that Rema has not returned to the chart with his original version of the song.

The remix with Gomez has propelled "Calm Down" to mainstream recognition, making it one of the longest-charting Afrobeat songs in the U.S. and surpassing one billion streams on Spotify. Rema, born Divine Ikubor, released "Calm Down" in February 2022 as part of his debut album "Rave & Roses," which has since shattered multiple records, including becoming the longest-charting African song on the Billboard Hot 100.
