Pantami Reveals Buhari's Advice to Stay Out of Gombe Politics for Unity

Former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Ali Pantami, disclosed that late former President Buhari advised him to avoid active involvement in Gombe state politics to ensure unity and stability. Pantami shared this information during a visit to the APC state secretariat in Gombe.

He explained that Buhari's counsel during his first term aimed to foster harmony and cordial work relationships within the state's political leadership. Pantami emphasized that his involvement in politics did not start recently but dates back to 2001, highlighting the differences between political participation and security sector engagement.

He described his party, the APC, as instrumental in nurturing his political journey, especially through the merger that formed the party. Pantami clarified that he did not defect to the ADC but remained loyal to the APC.

The disclosure comes amidst reports of violence and abductions in several northern states, prompting Pantami, a cybersecurity expert, to urge authorities to adopt technology-based counter-terrorism measures.
