ADC Chieftain Critiques APC's Threat to Democracy

Oladimeji Fabiyi, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), publicly criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC) for what he perceives as efforts to eliminate opposition parties and undermine democracy in Nigeria. His remarks were made in response to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) releasing the timetable for the 2027 general elections, which he argues could disadvantage opposition parties.

Fabiyi expressed concerns that INEC, led by Chairman Prof. Joash Amupitan, is hastily scheduling elections that may leave opposition parties unprepared.

He emphasized that the Nigerian populace does not want opposition parties silenced, as they are essential for delivering democratic dividends.
