Osimhen Keeps Number 45 Jersey at Galatasaray

Victor Osimhen, the Super Eagles striker, has explained his decision to reject the opportunity to wear Galatasaray’s number nine shirt, opting instead to continue with his number 45 jersey ahead of the new season. Osimhen joined Galatasaray on a permanent deal last summer after a successful loan spell and has quickly become one of the club’s most important players.

The number nine shirt is historically associated with top attacking players and was previously linked with Mauro Icardi. However, Osimhen stated that the number 45 has brought him good fortune and he prefers to stick with it.

He mentioned, “I believe you will sell more shirts, but I think you will understand my perspective. The number 45 has been lucky for me at Galatasaray.” Since his transfer from Napoli, Osimhen has established himself as a fan favorite, scoring important goals and delivering strong performances.

He recently opened his preseason goal account during a 3-3 draw against Rennes in Istanbul.
