85-Year-Old Voter Advocates for Better Governance in Osun

Pa Odejide Mosunmoye, an 85-year-old voter, participated in the Osun State governorship election, expressing hope that the election outcome would enhance good governance and benefit all societal segments. After voting at Unit 3, Ward 9, AUD School Atile in Ikire, Irewole Local Government Area, he stated, “I came out in my old age to vote today for the candidate of my choice because I want to see better governance in the state.” Mosunmoye, who has been voting since the days of Awolowo, acknowledged that while government may not be perfect, it is essential to choose better leaders.
He remarked that the outcome is in God's hands, but citizens must play their part. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that elderly voters were prioritized during the voting process, which commenced at approximately 8:40 a.m. after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) presiding officer allowed party agents to inspect the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) and ballot papers.
