Voter Appeals for Help After BVAS Failure in Osun

Sharafa Lasisi, a 55-year-old resident, encountered difficulties with the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) while attempting to vote at Polling Unit 006, Ward 04, in the Isale/Oke-Afo area of Ikirun, Ifelodun Local Government Area, Osun State. Despite multiple attempts to have his face recognized by the BVAS machine, he was unsuccessful.

Election officials attributed the failure to network problems and advised him to return later. Following their advice, Lasisi returned to the polling unit but faced the same issue again.

He expressed his frustration, stating, “They said I should go and eat at home. I went and came back and it still didn’t go through.” Lasisi urged the Independent National Electoral Commission to intervene and ensure he could exercise his right to vote in the ongoing Osun State governorship election.
