Fubara Advocates for Public Service Reforms in Nigeria

On Thursday, during the opening ceremony of the 48th Meeting of the National Council on Establishments in Port Harcourt, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara called for sustained investment in public service reforms, strategic capacity development, and digital transformation. He stressed the importance of rethinking and repositioning public institutions to adapt to the demands of the twenty-first century, highlighting the need for a public service that is agile, accountable, and driven by excellence.

Fubara noted that public institutions must anticipate change and implement policies that reward competence and innovation. He described the public service as the engine room of government, essential for translating policies into tangible programs and delivering services to citizens.

Fubara emphasized that a motivated and efficient public service is crucial for achieving sustainable development. He urged the National Council on Establishments to produce practical recommendations to enhance institutional capacity and improve productivity in the Nigerian public service.
