PDP Remains Stronger than Coalitions, Says Gov. Bala Mohammed

Bala Mohammed, the Governor of Bauchi State, spoke after a meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Aso Rock Villa, asserting that the People's Democratic Party (PDP) continues to be a larger political entity than any coalition of opposition parties. He highlighted that despite recent defections and leadership crises, the PDP has survived for two decades and remains a formidable force in Nigerian politics.

Mohammed noted that the PDP has achieved significant victories in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), winning 16 council chairmanship seats and numerous councilor positions in recent local elections. He expressed confidence in the party's strength, stating that it is present in every ward and will not be sidelined in future electoral contests.

The governor's remarks come amid challenges faced by opposition parties, particularly the African Democratic Congress (ADC), which struggled to secure council seats in the same elections.
