Mainoo Excluded from Manchester United's 2026/27 Squad

Manchester United has submitted its official 25-man Premier League squad for the 2026/27 season, with Kobbie Mainoo absent from the registered list. His omission is attributed to registration rules rather than any injury or conflict.

Mainoo, born after the start of 2005, is classified as an Under-21 player, which means he does not need to be included in the senior squad and remains eligible to play at any time during the season. Leny Yoro, who turns 21 in November, is also missing from the list for the same reason.

The Premier League regulations limit senior squads to 25 players, with a maximum of 17 non-homegrown players. Manchester United's squad includes eight homegrown players, such as Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, and Mason Mount, along with 15 non-homegrown players.

Other Under-21 players available for selection include Ayden Heaven, Tyler Fletcher, Shea Lacey, Harry Amass, and Tynan Thompson. Notably, Kai Rooney, son of Wayne Rooney, has begun his first year as a scholar, and Michael Carrick's son, Jacey, has also joined the academy program.
