On Monday, during the World Cup group H match between Uruguay and Saudi Arabia at 23:00 BST, Italian referee Maurizio Mariani and his team will wear pink jerseys. This decision is a tribute to Miami, known for its pink flamingos, and is intended to show appreciation for the city hosting the tournament.

Pierluigi Collina, FIFA's Chief Referee Officer and Chairman of the FIFA Referees Committee, supported this initiative. FIFA President Gianni Infantino expressed that the choice of pink is meant to give a little shout-out and bring a smile to the city, which will host the tournament for two months.
