Alleged Coup Plotters Not Charged Due to Ongoing Probe

Allegations have emerged regarding the lack of charges against some individuals linked to an alleged coup plot against President Bola Tinubu. Officials from the Department of State Services (DSS) stated that the ongoing joint investigation has not concluded, leading to delays in arraigning several detainees.

Security sources explained that authorities cannot proceed with charges against suspects until the investigation is complete. The timeline for concluding the probe remains uncertain due to the complexity of the case.

Once the investigation is finalized, additional suspects may face charges. The federal government has set six defendants to be arraigned in the Federal High Court in Abuja for their alleged involvement in the plot to overthrow President Tinubu.

The defendants include retired Major General Moham Ibrahim Gana, retired Naval Captain Erasmu Ochegobia, Inspector Ahm Ibrahim Zekeri, Umoru Bukar, Kashim Goni, and Abdulkadir Sani.
