Brown Ideye Reveals Reasons for 2014 World Cup Exclusion

In an interview, former Super Eagles player Brown Ideye explained the reasons behind his exclusion from Nigeria's 2014 FIFA World Cup squad. Ideye, who was part of the team that won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa, revealed that his absence was linked to a disagreement with his Nigerian agent.

He stated that the conflict escalated to a point where he chose to terminate his professional relationship with the agent to prevent further issues. Ideye felt betrayed by the agent's handling of negotiations, particularly regarding a potential move to West Ham, which did not progress as expected.

Instead, he opted for a safer move to West Bromwich Albion. Ideye expressed that he believed 99.9 percent of the reason for his exclusion was due to the agent's close ties with Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi, leading to his decision to step back from the situation.
