Atiku's Lobbying Firm Submits Tinubu Forfeiture Records

The Washington-based lobbying firm Von Batten-Montague-York, L.C., retained by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, submitted documents related to a civil forfeiture case involving President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to officials in the Donald Trump administration and Congress. The firm, engaged under a 12-month contract worth $1.2 million, aims to advocate for Atiku's positions on Nigeria-U.S. relations.

It stated that many U.S. officials were previously unaware of the Department of Justice's (DOJ) allegations against Tinubu, which stem from a 1993 civil forfeiture case linked to a drug trafficking organization operating between Nigeria and the U.S. The firm distributed over 60 pages of DOJ records, including a chronology of the case, which identifies Tinubu and others as part of the allegations.

The firm intends to ensure that President Trump receives the complete records related to the case.
