Akporeha Backs Yari for Tinubu's 2027 Election Victory

Prince Williams Akporeha, the immediate past president of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) and National Coordinator of Working People United, expressed confidence in the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, which is led by Abdulaziz Yari. Akporeha stated that Yari, a former governor of Zamfara State and senator, is a "tested and trusted leader" whose appointment as Director-General of the 108-member council will enhance President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's chances in the upcoming January 16, 2027 election.

He emphasized Yari's considerable experience in governance, party organization, and grassroots mobilization, asserting that his leadership will bring discipline and strategic coordination to the campaign. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has published details of 19 presidential candidates, including Tinubu, Atiku Abubakar, and Peter Obi, as campaigns officially commenced on August 19, 2026.
