Iranian Leader Khamenei's Wife Dies After Tehran Strike

Mansoureh Khojasteh Bagherzadeh, aged 79 and the wife of late Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, died on Monday from injuries sustained during a strike in Tehran. Reports indicate she was present at Khamenei's compound during the attack.

Bagherzadeh, born in Mashhad, was the sister of Hassan Khojast Bagherzadeh, a former deputy director of Iran's state broadcast IRIB. She married Khamenei in 1964 and they had six children, including four sons—Mostafa, Mojtaba, Masoud, Meysam—and two daughters, Hoda and Boshra.

Her death adds to the tragedy following the reported killing of Khamenei in the strike, which has sharply escalated tensions in the Middle East. Iranian authorities, including Masoud Pezeshkian, have declared a military response, claiming to target multiple U.S. military installations across the Gulf region.

The Iranian Red Crescent Society reported at least 555 people killed in the outbreak of hostilities affecting 130 cities, while the U.S. Central Command and Israeli officials have dismissed claims regarding the attacks.
