Wike Critiques Amaechi's Vice Presidency for Rivers State

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, criticized his predecessor, Chibuike Amaechi, regarding his candidacy as the vice presidential running mate to Atiku Abubakar on the platform of the African Democratic Congress. Wike stated that Amaechi's candidacy holds no benefit for the people of Rivers State, labeling him a political liability with zero electoral value in the state and the South-south region.

During a media chat in Abuja, Wike emphasized that the Rivers electorate would not be swayed by Amaechi's ambitions, noting that the state has received unprecedented federal attention under President Bola Tinubu. He pointed out Amaechi's failure to secure significant votes in previous elections, questioning the rationale behind his selection as a running mate.

Wike also accused Amaechi of political inconsistency, highlighting his previous criticisms of the All Progressives Congress primaries while benefiting from the same system. He referenced Amaechi's past political decisions that could lead to rejection by the region.
