PDP Faction Denies Support for Tinubu's Re-election Bid

The faction of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) supported by Nyesom Wike has publicly denied any plans to support Bola Tinubu's re-election bid for the 2027 general elections. In a statement made during an interview on Channel Television, the faction's spokesperson, Jungudo Moham, emphasized that the PDP intends to present its own presidential candidate and will not endorse Tinubu.

This declaration comes amidst ongoing rumors suggesting that the PDP might align with the All Progressives Congress (APC) in support of Tinubu, which the faction categorically dismissed as propaganda aimed at discrediting both the PDP and Wike's position. Wike had previously expressed support for Tinubu's second term during a media briefing in Abuja in March 2026, highlighting his influence as a significant political figure in Nigeria.

The faction reassured the public that they would conduct their primaries and urged patience as they prepare for the upcoming elections.
