Wike Declares PDP Crisis Over, Calls for Former Members' Return

Nyesom Wike, the former Governor of Rivers State, declared the crisis within the People's Democratic Party (PDP) over during a media briefing in Abuja on Friday. He urged former members to return to the party to aid in its rebuilding process.

Wike characterized the political competition as non-hostile, likening it to a football match rather than a battle. He emphasized the importance of moving past personal grievances and interests to unify the party for progress.

Wike noted that several individuals who had distanced themselves from the PDP have already shown interest in returning, encouraged by the current political climate. He warned against the attitude that undermines reconciliation efforts and stressed that the party's recent challenges should be resolved through cooperation rather than division.

Wike cautioned politicians against relying solely on titles, advocating for visible engagement and consistent efforts to remain politically significant within the party structure.
