Wike Declares PDP Crisis Over, Welcomes Returnees

Nyesom Wike, the former governor of Rivers State and a prominent member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), declared that the internal crisis within the party is resolved and announced an open-door policy for former members seeking to return. Speaking during a media briefing in Abuja on Friday, Wike likened political dynamics to a football game, urging aggrieved politicians to set aside personal differences for the party's progress.

He highlighted the importance of moving past recent internal conflicts, particularly following the party's national convention. Wike noted that several former members have already expressed their intent to rejoin the PDP.

He criticized the often negative perception associated with Nigerian politics, suggesting that misunderstandings have hindered reconciliation efforts. Wike warned that political relevance requires hard work and not just titles, emphasizing the need for serious contenders to prepare for future elections.

He acknowledged the significant work ahead to unify the party and move beyond the recent challenges.
