Wike Accuses Politicians of Misleading Rivers Governor Fubara

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, identified four political figures—Edison Ehie, Chijioke Ihunwo, Victor Oko Jumbo, and activist Ankio Briggs—whom he accused of misleading Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara amid a prolonged political crisis. During a media chat in Port Harcourt, Wike asserted that the advice from these individuals significantly contributed to the breakdown of peace agreements aimed at resolving the conflict.

He expressed that the situation could have been resolved sooner had Fubara not heeded their counsel. Wike described Fubara as the biggest casualty of the political turmoil, noting that many who encouraged him to confront the political structure that supported his rise to power were no longer in positions to assist him.

He emphasized that despite reconciliation efforts facilitated by President Bola Tinubu, tensions persisted due to the influence of Fubara's associates. Wike claimed his extensive political experience allowed him to foresee the crisis's outcome and criticized those who misled the governor regarding political development.
