Wike Nullifies 485 Abuja Land Documents Over Forgery

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has announced the nullification of 485 land documents in Abuja due to concerns regarding forgery. The decision was made public through a notice issued by the FCT Administration's Department of Land Administration and the Abuja Geographic Information System (AGIS).

The notice indicated that numerous applications failed to pass the necessary official verification processes, confirming that several documents were indeed fake. The affected documents span various districts and satellite towns across the FCT, including Bwari Area Council and Ushafa Village.

The minister emphasized the importance of genuine land titles and warned that holders of the affected documents would be informed accordingly. This action reflects ongoing struggles within the administration to combat fraudulent land titles and double allocations.

The FCT has been intensifying calls for the regularization of land documents, with a significant number of submissions dating back to 2006 still pending verification.
