Wike Approves Confirmation of 1,659 FCTA Workers

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has approved the confirmation of 1,659 workers within the FCT Administration. This decision follows an examination conducted by the FCT Civil Service Commission on February 28, 2026, where 2,281 candidates were invited to present themselves.

Out of these, 2,281 candidates participated in the examination, while a total of 224 officials were absent, raising suspicions of ghost workers. The confirmed workers had been employed as far back as 2016 to 2019.

The announcement was made in a statement issued by Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant to the Minister on Public Communication and Social Media. Emeka Ezeh, the Chairman of the FCT Civil Service Commission, indicated that the commission plans to conduct a promotion exercise in 2025-2026.
