Wike Orders Demolition of Criminal Hideout in Abuja

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), ordered the demolition of a suspected criminal hideout in Abuja after leading security operatives to the location following the FCT Security Committee Meeting on Friday. Wike stated that this directive is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen security in the capital, as intelligence reports indicated that suspected criminals frequently retreated to this settlement after committing attacks in various parts of the FCT.

He instructed the Commissioner of Police in the FCT, Ahmed Sanusi, to collaborate with the Director of Development Control to carry out the demolition. Wike emphasized that anyone found using such locations to facilitate criminal activities would face severe legal consequences.

He reaffirmed the commitment of the FCT Administration to dismantle criminal enclaves, enhance public safety, and protect residents, highlighting that the safety of lives and property remains a top priority.
