Wike Partners with Japan to Revamp Abuja Master Plan

On a Tuesday visit from a high-level Japanese delegation, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), announced a strategic partnership with Japan to update the 1979 Abuja Master Plan. This initiative aims to align the growth of Nigeria's capital with modern realities projected for the year 2050.

Wike expressed profound appreciation for Japan's historical technical contributions to Nigeria, noting that the original blueprint for the Federal Capital Territory was developed with Japanese expertise. He emphasized the need to reassess the structural development of Abuja and commended the Japanese government for its consistent support in various sectors, including education and health.

Wike specifically highlighted the training of Nigerian teachers in Tokyo as part of this collaboration, showcasing the multifaceted nature of the partnership between Nigeria and Japan.
