Wike Criticizes INEC's Stance on ADC Leadership Dispute

Nyesom Wike, during a media briefing in Abuja on Friday, reacted to the Independent National Electoral Commission's (INEC) refusal to recognize the leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) led by David Mark. Wike noted that INEC did not acknowledge the party's members until the leadership dispute is resolved in court.

This statement followed INEC's recent action to remove the names of former Senate President David Mark and former Osun State Governor from its portal. INEC further declared that it does not recognize Bala Gomb as the national chairman of the ADC and will not monitor any congress organized by a rival faction until a final determination is made by the Federal High Court.

Wike expressed his opinion that INEC's judgment should not recognize Gomb until the court resolves the matter. The ADC has accused INEC of violating the law by taking sides in the party's leadership dispute.
