Wike Critiques Atiku, Declares 2027 Presidency Unavailable

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, criticized former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, asserting that the 2027 presidential race is not available. During a routine inspection of infrastructure projects in Kuje, Wike dismissed Abubakar's recent comments on the administration of President Bola Tinubu, labeling him a "serial failure." Wike highlighted the lack of transformation in Nigeria during Abubakar's tenure as vice president, stating that it is laughable to suggest that nothing has been done in the last eight years.

He invoked remarks from former President Olusegun Obasanjo, who publicly described Abubakar as a failure, questioning his character. Wike sarcastically encouraged Abubakar to continue contesting elections, despite asserting that the 2027 presidential race is not viable.

He also downplayed the strength of the opposition coalition, specifically mentioning figures like Peter Obi and Nasir El-Rufai, and concluded by advising opposition parties to focus on internal affairs rather than criticizing the government.
