Haske Promises Security for Farmers in Borno Elections

Kudla Milinda Satumari Haske, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Askira/Uba/Hawul Federal Constituency in Borno State, has pledged to prioritize security to facilitate the return of farmers displaced by violence if elected in the 2027 elections. He stated that insecurity has severely disrupted farming activities in the constituency and emphasized that restoring security is crucial for reviving agriculture and improving residents' livelihoods.

Haske noted that the constituency's population is predominantly made up of farmers who cannot engage in agriculture without adequate security. He also promised to advocate for agricultural and infrastructural facilities to support farmers and stimulate economic activities.

Haske's decision to contest was influenced by appeals from traditional and religious leaders, youth and women groups, and party stakeholders. Initially hesitant to run, he changed his mind after consultations with community leaders who urged him to participate in the evolving political landscape.

His campaign will focus on the immediate needs of Askira/Uba while contributing to broader development efforts in Southern Borno.
