Windstorm in Katsina Destroys Over 200 Homes and Shops

A windstorm in Katsina has caused significant destruction, damaging more than 200 houses, shops, and other properties, particularly affecting the community in Dangamau. The governor described the disaster as painful and unfortunate, emphasizing the impact on families who have lost their homes and livelihoods.

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula, the governor expressed solidarity with the victims and assured them that the Katsina State Government would support them during this crisis. He has instructed relevant government agencies to assess the extent of the damage promptly and to deliver relief materials, including food, temporary shelter, and other essential items, to those displaced.

The governor also urged residents to remain calm and cooperate with emergency response teams as efforts are made to restore normalcy in the affected areas.
