With N35bn, Delta Govt Moves to ‘Rescue’ Effurun-Sapele-Benin Federal Govt Road

The Delta State Government has allocated N35 billion to rescue the Effurun-Sapele-Benin Federal Government Road by awarding the reconstruction contract to the Chinese firm, China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC). The project, advertised through the Delta State Tenders Board, will cover a 10-kilometer dual carriageway with a five-kilometer expanded width and stormwater drain features.

The reconstruction is expected to be completed within 12 months and aims to ease traffic congestion, improve connectivity, and boost economic activity in the region. Governor Sheriff Oborevwori's administration prioritizes infrastructure renewal and sustainable urban development.

Commissioner for Works and Public Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, assured residents of quality and durability in the project, emphasizing the government's commitment to delivering quality infrastructure to support inclusive growth and prosperity.

The intervention is seen as a timely relief for motorists and aims to preserve Delta's status as a commercial hub.
