Wolves Bar Arokodare from Training, Defying FIFA Rules

Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly prevented Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare from training with the first team on Monday and Tuesday, contravening FIFA's newly introduced player protection regulations. The club canceled Monday's training session after Arokodare refused to leave the pitch when instructed.

On Tuesday, additional security was deployed at Compton Park to prevent his return. This situation arises shortly after new manager Cesar Peixoto took over, following the club's relegation from the Premier League.

Arokodare, who scored six goals in 38 appearances last season, has been linked with moves to Serie A clubs Genoa and Fiorentina, with Fiorentina having an offer rejected earlier this month. The striker is not expected to participate in an upcoming pre-season friendly against Maidenhead United.

FIFA's reforms prohibit clubs from isolating players as a pressure tactic during transfer negotiations, aiming to protect players from abusive practices.
