Edo CPS Dr. Ebojel Joins Journalists for Workers' Day

On Workers' Day, Dr. Patrick Ebojel, the Chief Press Secretary to the Edo State Governor, participated in a march with journalists at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, marking the celebration of the 2026 Workers' Day.

Ebojel, a former journalist, emphasized the importance of identifying with the media profession and expressed solidarity with media practitioners. In an interview, he highlighted the critical role journalists play in the democratic process, including informing the public, disseminating information, and holding leaders accountable.

Governor Mondai Okpebholo's administration was noted for its respect for the press. Dr.

Festus Alenkh, the Edo State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, commended Ebojel's participation, describing it as a strong gesture of solidarity that reinforces the bond between the government and the media. Alenkh also noted that such actions help strengthen trust and cooperation, boosting morale among journalists and emphasizing their vital role in society.
