Quansah was included in the starting lineup due to Reece James being sidelined with a hamstring injury.

This injury to Quansah occurred in the 64th minute of the match after a challenge with Jose Luis Rodriguez. Tuchel expressed that Quansah is in pain and mentioned that such injuries typically take time to heal.
