World Cup: Nigeria’s Para-Powerlifters Set To Depart For Chile

Nigeria's Para-Powerlifters are gearing up to depart for the World Cup in Chile, with a team of ten elite athletes set to compete in various weight categories. The contingent, led by world record holder Oluwafemiayo Folashade, is determined to showcase Nigeria's dominance on the global stage.

The competition is scheduled to take place from August 13 to 17, with the main championship event running from August 15 to 17. The team is expected to depart from Lagos on August 18 and return on August 19.

Folashade expressed strong optimism about the team's ability to bring home gold medals, thanking the Nigerian Sports Commission, Paralympic Committee of Nigeria, and others for their support. The athletes aim to continue Nigeria's legacy of excellence in Para-Powerlifting and inspire a new generation of athletes.
